ABOUT US
Many years ago, The Miss Canal Winchester Pageant began and is now a tradition in Canal Winchester. Through research, we discovered the first Miss Canal Winchester was crowned in 1962! Previously, the pageant was held at the original swimming pool and in other years, was the opening event for The Labor Day Festival. Currently the pageant is held at David Lutheran Church in historic downtown Canal Winchester. The current pageant committee is extremely appreciative of The Wood Foundation for supporting the pageant for many years by offering a college scholarship for the court members after they were crowned. Additionally, we thank The Labor Day Festival for administering the pageant.
The tradition of the Miss Canal Winchester Pageant is continuing! 2018 was the first year that the pageant operated separately from The Labor Day festival. The committee believes in serving Canal Winchester. Therefore, the current Miss Canal Winchester court members are asked many times during the year to provide service to our community. The girls are often seen at community events such as Christmas in the Village, Music and Art in the Park, and at Kroger ringing the bell for Salvation Army during the Christmas season.
The pageant is an event that many community members look forward to every year! We hope to see YOU there!
